Biography
Nele Roekens is a legal advisor at the Belgian Equality Body and National Human Rights Institution. She holds a Master of Laws degree and specializes in the intersection of AI and human rights. Nele chairs the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions’ Working Group on AI, coordinating the joint work of more than 50 independent human rights institutions on AI and emerging technologies. She previously served as an independent expert to the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence, Equality, and Discrimination.
